Truth be told, I’ve got friends on both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line [...]]]> Apparently I’m going through reenactor withdrawal – the Civil War reenactment season has begun without me and now I’m a certifiable Yankee.  According to this test I’m “35% Dixie. You are definitely a Yankee.”  How will I ever face my boys in the Army of Northern Virginia?!

Truth be told, I’ve got friends on both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line and since I portray a war correspondent (with a very conspicuous 21st century digital camera) my allegiances shift depending on which side of the battlefield I’m on.  In between battles I’m camping with the Hart’s Engineers boys…because they feed me. :-)

I missed the first two events because I wasn’t in the mood to be trapesing around in the mud (at least not this time) and I skipped the third event because springtime plus Prado Regional Park equals the worst allergies I’ve ever had.  I can’t wait for Wooden Nickel!

My interest in the theatre goes back to freshman year in high school…I worked as a PA (production assistant) on “House of Blue Leaves” and just fell in love!  The Stage Manager was changing schools before the second semester production and I was in line to be the youngest Stage Manager ever…sadly, the school district consolidated the arts programs and decided to house them at a single campus…a campus other than mine.  Don’t ask – I’m still bitter.

However, this section is “Drama is Life” not “Theatre is Life” because I’m also a huge movie buff and it’s a rare day that I meet a sci-fi television should I don’t like.

I’ve heard [...]]]> Isn’t it funny how your current situation changes your perception of something that’s always been there? I added a new quote to my “database” the other day – You take it on faith, you take it to the heart/The waiting is the hardest part – from “The Waiting” by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

I’ve heard this song many times before, heck it’s on my “Favorites” playlist on my iPod, but it just so happened that when it started playing the other night I was in the midst of waiting for something.

It was like an epiphany! Why on earth do we get ourselves so worked up anticipating something? It rarely turns out the way we expect, sometimes we are sorely disappointed while other times we are pleasantly surprised, either way…there’s no point in the stress.

That being said, I’m going to go sit and wait and anticipate a little more.
